🌿 About Sunday School Buddies

Sunday School Buddies was created to help children experience the joy of God’s love through music, movement, and meaningful moments of faith.

Through original Christian songs, videos, and resources, Sunday School Buddies helps children learn about God, grow in faith, and experience the joy of worship in ways that are engaging, memorable, and made especially for them.

🌿 Our Story

Growing up in a Lutheran church in a small rural Iowa town, Lori Lynn Ahrends loved going to church—even as a young child. Some of her earliest and most meaningful memories are of singing songs about God and Jesus with friends in Sunday School and at church camp.

Her Sunday School music leader, Mrs. Leng, made worship through music both fun and deeply meaningful, planting seeds of faith that would last a lifetime. Later, summers spent singing camp songs at church camp in Okoboji, Iowa, deepened Lori Lynn’s love of Jesus, singing, and playing the guitar.

Lori Lynn has been writing songs since she was a child. Years later, when she stepped into the role of Sunday School teacher herself, something unexpected and beautiful began to happen: songs started coming to her—simple, heartfelt songs filled with messages of faith for children.

She felt called to capture those songs and share them so that children, families, and churches everywhere could sing them, learn from them, and praise God together.

Sunday School Buddies grew from that calling.

Today, Lori Lynn works with a talented team of four young vocalists, a Grammy-nominated sound engineer, and an accomplished guitarist, along with other local musicians when a song calls for something special. Supporting local singers, musicians, and recording studios—and making sure they are fairly compensated for the gifts they share—is an important part of the Sunday School Buddies mission.

At its heart, Sunday School Buddies carries forward something Lori Lynn experienced as a little girl: the belief that a simple song, shared with joy, can plant a seed of faith that lasts a lifetime.

Love God. Love others. And remember—that includes yourself.

🌿 More Than A Song

As a longtime early childhood teacher and trainer, Lori Lynn understands the powerful role music can play in a child’s life. Music can help children remember important truths, engage their hearts and minds, form relationships with others, and connect more deeply with what they are learning.

Each Sunday School Buddies song is created with children in mind, with the hope that through music they will:

• Experience joy, peace, and love as they learn about the Bible
• Begin to understand who they are and how they want to live
• Learn to treat others—and themselves—with kindness, compassion, and care.
• Grow in their understanding of the life and love of Jesus

Whether singing together in Sunday School or a faith-based classroom, using a song for a performance, or simply enjoying the music at home—or especially in the car!—each song is created to be joyful, meaningful, and something both children and adults can enjoy on repeat.
